Earl L. Berger, 78, of S. 5th Street, Tower City, died Friday, Feb. 14, at Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville.
Born in Reinerton, July 18, 1931, he was a son of the late Rubin O. and Orpha M. Unger Berger.
Earl was a graduate of Porter Twp. High School and Williamson Trade School. Earl was the former owner of Berger Construction Company where he was a well known and respected brick layer.
He retired as a manager from Boscov’s Department Store, Lebanon.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Reinerton.
Earl was an avid woodworker. He and his wife enjoyed working in their yard, especially decorating for the holidays.
In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a grandson, Jeremy Berger, and a brother, Charles.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Lorna Moyer Berger; two sons, Gregory E. Berger, Palmyra, and Randall S. Berger, Tower City; 7 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 16, from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. with Rev. Charles Oldland officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
