Earl E. Snyder, Sr., 88, of Halifax, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg.
Earl was born in Wiconisco, on November 20, 1925, he was a son of the late Edna (Carl) and Irvin Snyder, Sr.
He graduated from Wiconisco High School and served with the US Navy on the USS Regulus in the Pacific Theatre during WWII.
He worked as a Laborer at TRW for 32 and half years and was a member of the Paxton Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte (Roadcap) Snyder, who died on August 10, 2012.
Earl is survived by two daughters, Connie, wife of Randy Wolfe, of Klingerstown, and Carol Klinger, of Halifax; two sons, Galen Snyder Sr., of Halifax; and Earl Jr., husband of Yvonne Snyder of Tower City; a sister, June Lenker, of Wiconisco; a brother, Irvin Snyder, Jr., of Wiconisco.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, 13 great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five siblings, Fern Witmer, Carl Snyder, twins Erma Dietrich and Edna Laing, and Elva Stoneroad.
A graveside service with Military Honors was held on Friday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. in Miller's Church Cemetery, Halifax, with Pastor Dan Lepley officiating.
