Dorothy E. Lehman Snyder, 91, of Pine Grove, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Schuylkill Medical Center- East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

She was a former resident of Waterbridge in Pine Grove for the past five years.

Born April 11, 1921, in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late John Simon and Carrie Lauche Lehman.

Dorothy worked as a seamstress for the former Fox-Knapp in Pine Grove.

She was a great cook and earned many blue ribbons in the Pottsville Republican paper cooking contests. She also enjoyed playing pinochle.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 57 years, Frederick J. Snyder, June 30, 1998; a brother, Mervin Lehman; and a stepbrother, Harry Lehman.

Surviving are a son, Lonnie, and wife, Laura Snyder, Mt. Holly, N.J.; two grandsons, Jason and wife, Robin Snyder, and Scott and wife, Renee Snyder; granddaughter, Megan, wife of David Day; seven great-grandsons, Cole Snyder, Alex Snyder, Eli Snyder, Noah Snyder, Seth Snyder, Trent Snyder, and Bowen Day; and one great-granddaughter, Delia Snyder.

Services were held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 18 at H. L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, with Dr. Richard W. Schoenleber officiating. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to either the American Cancer Society, 16 North Fourth St., Minersville, PA 17954, or to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Rd., Suite 200, Wormleysburg, PA 17043, in her memory.
