Dawn M. Spittle, 79, of Tower City, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Tower City, February 1, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Schnell Bopp.

Dawn graduated from the former Tower City High School in 1951.

Dawn retired from the Payroll division at Ft. Indiantown Gap, Annville. She was also one of the original Avon Representatives in the Tower City area.

She was instrumental in forming the former Lad's and Lassie's Kindergarten in Tower City and the former Tower City Women's Club.

She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and was always willing to teach her talent.

She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and her lifelong friends; known as the birthday girls.

In addition to her parents she was pre-deceased by her husband of 58 years, James R. Spittle, February 3, 2011.

Surviving are a daughter, Marla DellaPenna and her husband Jeffrey Dohner, Tower City; one son, James V. Spittle and his wife Patti, Tower City; four grandsons, Joseph DellaPenna, Tyler, Chris and Cole Spittle.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 24 from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Homes, Inc. Tower City with Rev. Edward Gobrecht officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
