David B. Thomas, 71, of 1715 W. Maple Street, Valley View, died Saturday, Sept. 15, at his residence.

He was born on Friday, July 25, 1941, in Ashland, a son of Iris M. Bowman Thomas of Tucson, AZ and the late George V. Thomas.

He was a graduate of the former Ashland Area High School and attended Lycoming College.

He was a former partner in Bowman Brothers Trucking, Valley View.

He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

He was also a member of the Hegins Area Ambulance Association, Valley View Fire Company, and was a volunteer driver for Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries.

He is survived by his wife Sandra G. (Gradwell) Thomas, to whom he was married for 47 years.

Surviving in addition to his mother and his wife are a son John A. Thomas and his wife Jennifer of Ambler; a daughter Carla J. Bohner of Valley View; a grandson Jake R. Thomas of Ambler; three granddaughters Ashley R. Udowenko of Lansdale, Morgan T. Thomas of Ambler, and Tiffany A. M. Bohner of Valley View; a sister Carol D. McClenahan of Sewickley; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 am., with Rev. Duane Bardo officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church.

Burial will be made at the convenience of the family in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
