Charles C. Witmer, 96, of Carsonville, died Friday, Dec. 14, at his home.

He was born September 23, 1916, a son of the late Charles and Jenny Messner Witmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Snyder Witmer, a son, Charles I. Witmer and several brothers and sisters.

He was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel; a member of St. James Church, Carsonville, the Lykens valley Roamers; enjoyed wood crafting, hunting, fishing and camping.

Surviving are two sons, John W. Witmer, Daniel G. Witmer, both of Carsonville; a daughter Dorothy A. Strohm, Elizabetvhille; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Friday, Dec. 21, at St. James Cemetery, Carsonville, with the Rev. Ray G. Hackett Jr. officiating. There was no viewing or visitation.

John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens, was in charge of arrangements.
