Caroline Donovan, 90, of Trevorton, died Monday, Jan. 2, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
She was born in Tevorton, July 29, 1921. She was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Gryskiewicz Kidron. She was married on July 3, 1948 to John W. Donovan who preceded her in death on Decmeber 10, 1982.
Caroline was a lifelong resident of Trevorton. She attended Trevorton Schools. She worked as a seamstress in local garment factories. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Trevorton and a member of Trevorton American Legion Post No. 92 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons: Joseph Donovan and his wife Pat of Paxinos; John Donovan and his wife Connie of Spring Glen; two grandchildren: Todd Donovan and William Donovan; a great-grandchild, Zeke. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Michelle Donovan; two sisters: Mary Dunn and Veronica Smith; four brothers, John, Joseph, Francis, Peter Kidron.
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday, Jan. 6, at St. Patrick Church, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, with Parish Friar officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Trevorton.
