Blair Donald Sitlinger, age 90, of Schoolyard Square, Pine Grove, formerly of Valley View, died Tuesday, May 22, at Schuylkill Medical Center- E. Norwegian, Pottsville.
He was born on Monday, Oct. 3, 1921, in Gratz, a son of the late George I. and Flossie L. Steely Sitlinger.
He served in the US Army during World War II.
He was employed at Alcoa Aluminum, Cressona, for thirty years. After retirement he had his own carpentry business.
He was a former member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View; where he served on several committees.
Blair was a handyman and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
His wife Hannah E. Boyer Sitlinger passed away in 1999.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers Robert, Jacob, and Elwood Stilinger.
He is survived by three daughters Dianne E. Neugard of Klingerstown, Renee A. Morgan of Valley View, and Janice I. Maurer of Hegins, eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers George Sitlinger of Lykens and Herold Sitlinger of Maryland; two sisters Martha Wiest of Florida, and Irene Hepler of Gratz; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, on Saturday, May 26, with Rev. JoAnn M. Darrow officiating. Burial was in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.
