Jack R. Williard, Sr. of Hilton Head, S.C. died on Thursday, Oct. 4.
He was born on July 25, 1930 in Newton Falls, N.Y.
He married Alice Lorraine Romberger in 1953.
Jack is survived by his wife, Alice, his children, daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Michael Matter, son and daughter-in-law, Jack R. Williard, Jr. and Wanda, and son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Karen Williard. Jack was the grandfather of five grandchildren, Sean, Zack, Luke, Brandon and Kylie and four great grandchildren, Brock, Alec, Dylan and Lily.
After graduating from Penn State University he served in the U.S. Army in Germany then worked for Agway Petroleum until he retired to Millersburg, and then truly retired to Hilton Head, SC. where he became a member of The Christ Lutheran Church.
Jack was known for his great sense of humor, enjoyed his family, was a proud, true, blue and white Penn State Fan, an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and his golf game. He was a member of the Masons, the Tall Cedars, the Lions Club and the Rotary Club.
A celebration of Jack's life was held at The Christ Lutheran Church, 829 Wm. Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head, on Monday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. A luncheon followed immediately after the service at the church.
